Good evening everyone. I know we are in the home stretch for the basketball season; a little late I know, but I wanted to let you know you can catch the scores from the remain games this season on the CCA Tipoff Club's website.

As time permits and I can attend the games, I will post quarterly scores of all the basketball games for the rest of the season. Check the website regularly for updates. Select the link on the website for "Game Scores" for all the past game's scores.

I figure some parents and family members or CCA family cannot attend games, this way you have a chance to keep up on the scores.

It looks very promising that we will go into postseason playoffs beginning next Friday the 12th. I am hoping we can host the game here at CCA to launch us into the State Tournaments in Columbus, GA the 18th thru 20th.

Basketball Games this Week

We have a couple of corrections regarding our basketball games this week. We do have games Tuesday afternoon that weren't on the Friday Facts. Our Middle School Boys team plays away at Woodlee's Christian School at 4:30. Tuesday, at our gym, the JVG, JVB & VB play Faith Academy starting at 4:00pm. On Friday, we were going to play LCA at our gym, but it will now be played at their gym so that they can have their Senior night. Games start at 4:00pm-all four HS teams play. On 2/4, we will play our home game here against LCA. Today's and Thursday's games remain the same. Please make note of the changes on your calendar and have a great week!

Praise Basketball Game Still On

Our basketball game tomorrow against Praise is still on. We will be leaving the school at 10:45am in the morning. We need everyone there by 10:15.

Note: (THE GYM WILL BE OPEN AT 9:30 FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PRACTICE THEIR SHOOTING)

Please eat a good breakfast in the morning before coming to the school. Also, we will either eat at the game or on the way back stop somewhere. So, bring some spending money.

Hey Everyone,

J Hardee here. I wanted to reach out to all the parents to let you know about a few things that we are going to do to keep you informed through the rest of the season. We appreciate your patience thus far and hope this proves to be beneficial.

Currently Robin and Don Geary are our Tipoff Club presidents with Ellen Atkinson and I assisting where possible. Robin, Ellen, and I are included on this email if you need us for assistance. We will be working closer with all the coaches and the school administration to keep you informed. We will levereage the CCA Tipoff Club website, http://cca-tipoffclub.blogspot.com and emails to get information out to you. Additionally, you should use the CCA Official Website for the Basketball sports program as a valuable resource.

We want you to know that the Tipoff Club is meant for all of the high school sports teams, JV and V, Boys and Girls.

Coming Up!

Concession Schedules - All, with the 2nd half of the season comes the majority of our home games. We will be sending out game concession schedules and expect all parents to do their part. We only ask for an hour orr two on one or two occasions throughout the season. We will schedule you during a time when your athlete is not playing their games. Please make a mental note to make every effort to do your part. If you don't, someone else has to make up the difference. Information will be sent out in writing, email and posted on the CCA Tipoff Club website.

Promotions - Stay tuned for some exciting promotions where everyone has a chance to help. The promotions will be held during home games. More information will be sent out as we formalize the information.

Dinner and uniforms...

I'm sorry to report that the restaraunt has another (paying) party tomorrow night.
We may end up having dinner at my house. Information to follow.
I need the guy's to bring in their uniforms and practice jerseys. Please have them in a Wal-Mart or grocery bag. Both JV and Varsity can be in one. I'll get with Coach Britt and divide them out. Please take them to Mrs. Leggets office and I will pick them up daily and inventory them. I'd like to have them all back by next Tuesday if possible.
I'll be in touch soon on dinner plans. I didn't consider baseball and track schedules and the difficulty planning around them.

Winter sports awards/dessert...

Hello all,

Tomorrow night at 7:00 is the Winter Sports/Basketball awards ceremony. All Boy's Basketball players need to bring a 2 liter of soda/tea.

The Cheerleaders and girls BB will bring a dessert. If you wish you may bring a dessert also since we usually run out.

Coach Britt, Woodard, and myself still want to take the guy's to dinner next week to "The Grove" in Decatur. The owner is a friend of Mike's and will feed us a ton of food for under $15.00 per person and give us our own room. I have to say their Rib's were some of the best I have ever eaten and I couldn't finish them all. We are shooting for Thursday night, February 26th. We could meet at the school and we would drive them from there. We have some special "awards" we want to give out that night.

The trip down to Columbus on Saturday was a lot of fun. I enjoyed being around the guy's and had some good laughs. We saw some incredible games, double overtime in the boy's 1A championship, won by Mt. Zion. (For the second year in a row we had beaten the eventual 1A state champions.)

We will practice tomorrow from 5:45 til 8:00.

We will leave the school at 2:00 on Friday. We will stop and eat a good meal near the GA/AL border. That way we have time to digest and have plenty of energy. We should be there an hour before we play to shoot around and get used to the gym. The floor will probably be larger than we are used to.

We are not sure which gym we are playing at yet but know that it is at Samford College. We should have directions tomorrow.

We will play at 7 est, 6 cst. We should be finished by 8 or 8:30 our time and be back at the school by 11:30 p.m.

So far we have The Ragans, Gearys, Williams, Battertons, Hardees and myself or Coach Britt driving. My wife is taking our car for the cheerleaders. I think this might be enough but if someone else does drive it will just give us more room.

Please remember we have Youth Basketball Awards on Saturday morning. It is our last week with them and I would like for the guy's to be at the gym by 9:00 a.m..

Going to Birmingham...

We will be traveling to play Evangel on Friday.

Our departure time has not been set yet. We are allowed to drive our cars and not take the bus. (Yeahhh). Of course this means we need drivers. Dena Batterton and Robin Geary have already told me they would drive if needed. We would only need a few more to make the trip comfortable. Just let me know via e-mail if you are willing.

Tuesday-
Practice from 5:30 til 7:00 at Loganville Methodist.

Thursday-
At Heritage Sharpsburg, JV boys play at 4:30, there is no JV girls game. JV will leave at 2:30, Varsity at 3:00.

Important Information....

Hello all,
I met with some of the guy's this afternoon for a few minutes to give them some information.

Friday night is Senior Night. Between the JV and Varsity game we will recognize the Seniors, Jacob, Michael, and Seth.

Please have the guy's bring both white and blue Varsity uniforms on Friday.
We will take a team picture in our blue uniforms and play in the white ones. I would like for all of us to be at the gyme at 5:00 pm for pictures and pre game. Only the boy's will be playing on Friday.

Our team pictures for the school are Monday afternoon, JV at 2:45, Varsity at 3:00. We do not have a game so they will only need their blue uniforms and blue shooting shirts. They will be taking team and individual photos of your little darlings.

Practice today

I have received a few e-mails about todays practice. Yes, we will practice today at our gym from 4:15 til 6:00. The guy's were advised of this last week and at the Ballard game. We have region games on Tuesday and Thursday. It is very important that everyone be there on time and ready to go.
We will be covering the upcoming games this week.

Coach Britt and I are working on a practice schedule for December and will advise as soon as possible. We have four games next week and then have Christmas break. We will practice over Christmas break.

Leaving today at 2:30

The bus will be leaving today at 2:30 with the boys BB teams aboard. There is no JV girls game so we sill play at 4:30 and should be home at a decent hour tonight.

I should have the info today about the Ballard Tourney. As soon as I know where we are staying I will let you know. I was told the school would pay for 3 rooms for the boys, 5 per room. I would like for 1 Senior leader, 1 Junior and 3 Freshmen to stay per room. It is a good time for the boys to bond and build team unity. Chris and I will look over them.

We play Friday at 5:30 so we could leave at 3:00 and make it there in time to play.
After our game we will all go out to dinner together. We should be back at the hotel by 9:00. I would like for Chris and I to be able to spend time with the guy's, perhaps a light Bible study. Wind down by 10:30 or 11:00 and hit the rack.

Praise Tournament Results for Thursday

The boys had a tough loss this first night of the Praise tournament. They are in good spirits though.

Tomorrow's game will be at 5:30pm. The team will leave the school at 2:30pm.

Please pack your athlete's a snack for the road. They will not be stopping for dinner or eats before the game. They will be stopping after the game for dinner though. Please make sure your athlete has monies for this.

Athletes, please wear your blue varsity uniforms again.

I have had enough response from you all on the driving for Friday and Saturday that we adequately have it covered. Thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement. Coach Britt and I really appreciate you all.
We will know after tonights game what time we play tomorrow. Either 4:00 or 8:30, depending on a win or loss tonight.

We will leave at 5:00, stop and eat on the way there. Play and come straight home tonight. If your son does leave please have them back by 4:45.

The Beginning of an Exciting Season...

If you didn't go to the games on Tuesday, Nov 11, you missed some of the most exciting games and the hardest fought battles we have seen.

The JV Girls have a very young team amd they played a more veteran JV team. They played well, but came up a bit short. The HEART and EFFORT they showed tells us that we have some winning years ahead from these girls.

The Varsity Girls team is also a young, but very competitive team. They gave as good as they got, never giving up, fighting hard and hanging close to the end.

The Boys Basketball teams WON both games!! YEAH!!! What we saw from our COUGAR boys says we could be in for a very exciting basketball season.

CONGRATULATIONS to all four teams. We are VERY proud of ALL of you!

Please come out and support our teams.

Here is what we are going to do. Bus will leave at 5:00, study hall after school until 5:00. All homework should be done at this time. Stop and eat in Lithia Springs around 6:00. Go to Praise and prepare for our game. Come straight home from Praise, no stopping.
Please send money with your son to eat dinner on. I would also send a pillow and blanket so they could get an hour and a half of sleep on the way home.

We will need to provide transportation on Friday and Saturday. I can carry 5 comfortably, 7 if needed. Mrs. Geary said she would drive as would Coach Britt.
If any parents are going we caould distribute the guy's to make it a more enjoyable ride.

Praise Tournament his weekend...

Hello,

This is what I have so far on the Tournament at Praise. We play Thursday night at 8:30 p.m.(I know...) If we win, we play at 8:30 on Friday, if we lose we play at 4:00 on Friday. Saturdays times are not set yet but I do know they will not be in the morning. The earliest game on Saturday is at 4:00 p.m.

We will run a mock game on Thursday night complete with uniforms and scoreboard. We will also be breaking in J Hardee on keeping the book. If anyone else is interested in learning this please be there Thursday night. We will need someone to do both the JV and Varsity for home and away games.

After we play I would like for everyone to stay and have pizza together.

I will need all the JV uniforms back that have been given out. We were going to use them this year but now can't. The middle school will wear these and we will wear the Varsity uniforms for both JV and Varsity games. Please have the guy's bring them back on Thursday night.

We will distribute the Varsity and JV uniforms on Thursday night.

We will be practicing tonight from 6:00 to 8:30 at Mt. Zion. Thank you again Mr. Gongwer for allowing us to use the gym this month for our practices.

On the Friday Facts it says we have the gyme tonight from 4:15 to 5:15, it is also on the master calendar. I guess Chris and I missed it??? I will be there for the ones who can make it. I know it is late notice with rides and everything but if you can be there we will be practicing. I also notice no one has the gym after 5:15 so we may stay a little longer if possible until 6:00. Wow! I have to say that I am very impressed with the guy's progress. Coach Britt and I were very pleased with the effort and the energy at practice this morning. Thank you to all those that made the effort to be there, we were truly blessed by your smiling faces. For those of you that were, and are still traveling we pray for a safe journey.
Please be in prayer for Weston Williams and his family as he will now have to stay in Birmingham for 4 to 5 days to recover in ICU due to a ruptured spleen last night.
We will meet at 6:30 Tuesday night for practice at Mt. Zion.

Hello all,
Just wanted to update everyone on a few things real quick. Coach Britt and I have decided that we will let the guy's do their own shoes this year. We request that the shoe be White with red accents. If you want to wear last years shoes that's fine. I saw them on Dicks Sporting Goods web site for less than $60.00.
Both JV and Varsity will wear the same Polo shirts this year. They will have CCA Basketball logos and then your son's last name and number below that. I will have sample sizes of the shooting shirts tomorrow at practice and we will order them next week hopefully. If you can't be there we have a pretty good idea of what size to get you. They are under $35.00 and the polos should be under $25.00. Chris and I have done all we could to keep costs down this year and we hope this helps. The only other fee should be the $150.00 sports fee.

Practice changes & Thoughts...

Hello all,
We will practice at CCA on Monday night @ 6:15.
We will practice at CCA on Tuesday night @ 6:30.
As of now our Thursday night practice is cancelled unless we can find another gym. (There was a conflict at Mt. Zion on Thursday night.)

The Monday night practice is on the 20th at CCA and that is when we will give out uniforms.

Hello all,

Great time last night at conditioning practice. The guy's are really putting out a strong effort and Chris and I are very proud of them. Behavior has been wonderful also, closed mouths and open ears!!!

Our shorts are in and I will pick them up to have at practice on Thursday night. Hibbets has left the tags on them so if you want to exchange for another size it will be possible. Please send a check made out to CCA for $16.50 to Chris or myself as soon as possible.

I sent home practice shirts for the guy's who were there last night. We will need those back at the end of they year so they are resposible for them. Please start wearing them to practice starting Thursday at Mt. Zion.

On Monday night we are planning on giving out uniforms for JV and Varsity. Please try to be at practice on time Monday night and remember we are at CCA.

Practice Tonight at Mt Zion Baptist Church, Snellville

Hello all,

Sorry for the delay on this. We will all practice every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:30 at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Snellville for the month of October. The address is 1525 Scenic Hwy N, Snellville, GA, 30078. It is across from Sam's Club/Wal Mart in Snellville.

We will have some changes and additions once the master schedule at school has been adjusted. We will advise on that asap.

Coach McCready has told us that football ends before 5:30 every day. If your son needs a ride from the school to Mt. Zion please let either Coach Britt or myself know and we will get them to practice.

I have not heard on how Ron Williams did with his surgery so if someone could advise me I would greatly appreciate it. Please keep Ron and Danell in your prayers.

Practice Uniform Update

Just wanted to let you all know we have ordered everyone 2 pair of
shorts. The Booster club is going to pay for the shirts and we will
keep them/wash them for everyone. That way we can use them for a few
years at CCA.

We worked a deal on the shorts where it is going to be $16.50 for two
pair. Your son can keep these and use them again next year or for
anything they want.

The Booster club is going to pay this and you will need to give Coach
Britt or myself a check made out to CCA for $16.50. Once we collect
them all we will give them to the Booster club for CCA.
We should have everything at next weeks practices.

I will meet with the Seniors at Tuesday nights practice to discuss shoes
and shooting shirts. As a parent of two at CCA you can trust me to keep
costs down.

Although some of the JV players will be at an away game on Tuesday the 30th, we will still meet at 6:30 and start immediately after the Volleyball game. If you are not going to the game you need to be at the gym. We have a long way to go and a short time to get there.
